Outings and visitors

Educational outings continue to be valued by the vast majority of parents within the school. At Ravenhurst we endeavour to bring excitement, value and relevance to your child’s learning. The School Trip is one tremendous way in which so much can be achieved. We also invite visitors into school to demonstrate their skills and to run hands-on workshops.

Voluntary Contributions
Educational Outings and Visiting Specialists form a valuable, additional part of the curriculum. Some of the activities are FREE but we do have to ask for voluntary contributions to fund certain events. By law, the school has to make it clear that contributions towards school visits and visitors are voluntary. Without these contributions, educational visits and visitors may have to be cancelled.

Children have recently visited a variety of venues including:
Twycross Zoo, Bradgate Park, Severn Trent Water Educational Centre, Leicester New Walk Museum, Jewry Wall Museum, Bosworth Battle Field, Snibston Science Activity Centre, Sealife Centre, Several farms, Outdoor Pursuit Centre.

We offer the following residential educational opportunities for children from Year 2 to Year 6:

  • Year 2: Beaumanor Hall, Leicestershire.
  • Year 4: Ilam, Dovedale, Derbyshire.
  • Years 4, 5 and 6: Annually alternating between PGL France and London Theatre Trip.
  • Year 6: Aberglasyn, Wales.
